Purpose & Connections
April 7, 2026
Purpose is often deepened through our connections with others. It grows when people come together with a shared commitment to care for one another and support the well‑being of the community around them. By embracing interdependence and a spirit of mutual care, we strengthen the work we do and honor the greater purpose for which we are called to serve.
In this edition of our newsletter, you will see how these shared efforts continue to expand Valley View’s footprint of care. This year marks an important milestone, not only in caring for those on our campus, but in purposefully serving the broader community.
We strive to be a trusted resource and steady partner when guidance is needed most. In the pages that follow, you will learn more about these efforts and the steps we are taking to strengthen care across Big Valley and beyond.
Another story that highlights the power of connections is that of our newest Valley View Board of Directors member, Kirk Thomas. I fondly remember when I first stepped into my role at Valley View seven years ago, and Kirk was one of the first healthcare partners to welcome me. During that early conversation, he shared something that has stayed with me ever since: our work is important not simply because we serve the community, but because we are truly part of this beautiful valley. That initial connection has grown over time and now has him contributing in an even deeper way as a board member.
Lastly, we had the pleasure of hosting a local pastors’ breakfast, where we reflected on our founding and the vital role local churches have played in our story. By bringing this gathering together, we celebrated the value of reconnecting regularly and creating opportunities to support one another. These relationships are deeply rooted in who we are and continue to play a key role in Valley View’s work in the community.
We hope you enjoy reading this newsletter and seeing the many ways purpose and connection have guided us. We invite you to join us on this journey as we embrace a new year of possibility.
Gratitude,
Nicole Sarver, CEO
