Value: Service: Serving the needs of our residents and their families, and the members of the greater community is the reason for our existence. We will strive for excellence in serving those needs.

Pat Campbell and his wife Myra moved to Valley View Village in 2018 after a lifetime career in information technology. Pat has invested deeply in helping on our Valley View campus, saying that service doesn’t have to be a big sacrifice to make a big impact.

When he and his wife looked at retirement communities, they had just finished exploring the country in their RV. Now they wanted to truly be ‘retired’ and not busy just for the sake of being busy.

“We saw a lot of communities that had swimming pools, spas, and tennis courts. But we wanted to be retired, not entertained. I didn’t want to be busy or have a job. Both of us are just very happy hanging around the house.”

But when he saw an opportunity to contribute to the Village in a meaningful and selfless way, he didn’t hesitate to give back. “When Terry Fultz from Village Maintenance asked me if i could coordinate our trash crew – organizing a rotation of volunteers who drive through the village and collect bags each Wednesday, I said sure. Serving in a little project like this takes a load off of someone else.”

“I just feel like I could add some value by helping. You can make a big difference by doing little things.”
